I hope the end of last year had some celebrations in store for you and that the new year will be blessed with good fortune and fun!
I don’t know about you, but, for me, this year has started out so fast and now January is almost over! So much to do, complete, or get started. Fortunately, everything is positive and feels really productive.
The first week of January, I went to Sacramento for the Sac Anime convention.
I had a great time, met new SheRa fans and new fans of my Batgirl and Catwoman characters as well. I loved seeing more SheRa cosplayers and having interviews with Sirius Radio.
The people at SaAnime were so helpful and the convention so convenient to the hotel in which we stayed. And the great guys who wore SheBros shirts made my day!
We always love talking to everyone at the panels and this little one who could barely reach the microphone was no exception. How I love talking with each and every one of you. At the panel, I’d talked about this rescue cat I recently got and how when I was practicing the
She-Ra “transformation “ speech he got really upset because he didn’t know what was happening!
(At home, no one goes around talking at the top of their voice range and loudly saying things like “For the Honor of Grayskull” !) … He really couldn’t figure it out and was very concerned to see if I was ok!
So, what a surprise when the next day, returning to my table, there were two little clay figures at my seat that one of the vendors at the convention (PopGarden on Etsy) had made which looked just like him! What a thoughtful and charming gift.
I got to talk with so many of you and one terrific young man who’d been a fan since he was little, had me write some special quotes on one of the autograph photos that will keep his spirits up while he’s completing difficult graduate courses. I love knowing I can inspire you even miles away!
I just found out I’ll be going to Retro Con in October! I’m really looking forward to seeing all of you who live in Pennsylvania.
Bye for now, and keep up the good work fighting the good fight!
Love, Melendy
