Happy Holidays!

December 18, 2019 by Melendy Britt

Well, Thanksgiving is over and it looks like I haven’t written a newsletter since last year! It isn’t because I don’t think of doing it, its just that I have been so busy this year with my work, my family and my growth as a human being which is always a lifetime adventure. 🙂

My Thanksgiving was full of thanks—for family, you fans, and friends new and old that inspire me every day to be my best. And now that Thanksgiving is over, the Holiday Season begins with celebrations of love, giving, peace and joy. I celebrate Christmas, so I will have a tree decorated with ornaments we’ve collected for many years and then have at least two foodfests so that we can all groan with indulgence!  It’s a season of giving and I was so happy to donate some autographed items and a voicemail to a charity called Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats . 🙂

Always remember that you helped others because 5% of all photo prices purchased on this website go to Save The Children and St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

I’ve also started to communicate in (almost) real time with many of you on Facebook and posting photos there, so I’m hoping that you have felt some connection throughout the year.

I met so many new and old fans this year at comicons, and heard your inspiring stories of how She Ra touched your lives and gives you wonderful, joyful and inspiring memories of your childhood, and how your children are still enjoying the same She Ra you watched now  – and how we hope the SheRa character lives on forever as the superhero we all loved beginning with the original with which all of you were blessed to grow up watching. Thank goodness for the new re-released DVD’s and Utube!

There were sad times this year when a few friends who meant a lot to me passed on, so it makes me see even more vividly how short this time on earth is for us all and why we must live each day giving and receiving as much joy and love as possible.

I wish you all such joy and love this Holiday season. My heart will be with each of you as the days go by to this New Year and into every day of 2020. It’s my hope and prayer that it will be the very best year EVER for all of you!

Here are a just a few photos from this year I’ll keep in my heart, and hope that I’ll get to have more with some of you in 2020.

Happy New Year 2019!

December 30, 2018 by Melendy Britt

I hope you all had a really joyful and warm celebration with your loved ones and friends. I was so grateful to have my family this Christmas, and with a new baby in the family, seeing her open presents was such fun! There’s no joy like a child’s laugher and surprise.

This year is coming to a close and I could not be happier to start the new year.

For many, it has been a difficult year full of strange twists and turns in their lives, and for me it has been the same. There is a lull in all events right now and I feel much more quiet and reflective because of it, and it gives me a sense of hope and peace.

I had been scheduled to appear in Las Vegas the first week of January, but the contracts couldn’t be competed so I will be at home, but looking forward to keeping in contact with you all through Facebook till another time. I love hearing your comments and am always excited to see the new things you send regarding She Ra!

I hope that I will get to talk with some of you in person in 2019, and share your stories and fond memories of She Ra and some of the other animation series characters I was honored to voice. I’ll be at the Transformers Convention in March held in Los Angeles, talking about a character I voiced on it called Alana.

I wish you so much happiness and joy in this coming New Year. Celebrate all the good in your lives!

Happy New Year!!

SHE-RA ALAMO CITY FUN!

November 1, 2018 by Melendy Britt

Well! It was an adventure to Alamo City Comicon last week! As always, I met such great old and new fans of my work on She Ra and Batman and the other animated series I voiced . Each day brought a new surprise and a new feeling of gratitude for you all. And it was such fun to have the panel televised with a huge screen all over the convention ! I loved answering each question everyone had and always look forward to doing it again.

At my table, the stories you shared with me about why She Ra meant so much to you made my heart full of joy and purpose.

I wish I’d had more photos taken but at least I got a few for you all!

This little girl has a horse she loves called Jack Jack and she also was interested in how someone becomes a voice actor. And sure enough she wanted a photo of SheRa on Swift Wind! I love meeting the little ones because, in their eyes I see all the hopes and wishes I also had as a little girl. Another little girl who hadn’t been to the panel came up and wanted me to hear the voice of She Ra, so when I started with “I am Adora, He Man’s twin sister , and defender of the Crystal Castle!”…she burst into tears and it took a bit of time to get over her shock, so she grabbed her Mom, and we both smiled a deep smile at how much it meant to her.

And then there were the She Ra ladies who came in costume ready for fun! Here’s a great variation on the classic SheRa costume—and her friend (wish I could remember his name!) made the WHOLE thing, sword included. And that sword is heavy and the gemstone actually flickers with light!

And another wonderful young woman who dressed as SheRa came to have an autograph photo to be dedicated to her sisters memorial walk. That was Sarah, and she gave me a bracelet to honor the organization (AFSP.org) for which I am very grateful.

All the volunteers at the convention were superb, and made the long days so much better with all their help. Here’s my terrific new friend Lupe, who was so great to have helping me during my stay. Knowing she was there to help with all the details while some of you had to wait to talk with me was such a blessing. Thank you, Lupe!

I’ll be home for a while, but plan to be at a few cons next year. The first one is a short one in Las Vegas .

Sending lots of love to you all always!

Bay Area Toy Expo and Comicon fun

August 30, 2018 by Melendy Britt

Well, another weekend of Comicon fun was had by all this weekend in Santa Clara at the Bay Area Toy Expo and Comicon. As always , I meet old friends and new fans that I hadn’t met before, so there are great memories for everyone to hold in hearts forever like my helper Dani!

After the convention closed, I was sitting in the center waiting for the car to the airport. When all the guests and vendors and celebrities are gone, it’s a big lonely space.

And to think one hour ago, it was filled with laughter and smiles and great costumes, and people rushing back and forth from one panel to photo-ops to the table to greet new and old fans and sign memorabilia about SheRa, Batgirl, and other characters I’ve voiced. Great memories for sure.

I hadn’t been to the San Jose area in such a long time, and was astounded at it’s growth because of Silicon Valley. A huge airport even now expanding, but still wonderful down to earth people all around. I’ll be going up again for other events and am looking forward to visiting the San Francisco area because I used to live there.

Back home now and working and planning for a couple more conventions this year thanks to Nery and Chris @Celebworx (who’s show in the photo with Alan and me). Going to Philadelphia and San Antonio with my buddy, Alan Oppenheimer (Skeletor) in October and then my birthday, so October’s a busy month!

Always looking forward to meeting you, and sending lots of love and great wishes !

A New Year! 2018!

January 18, 2018 by Melendy Britt

I hope the end of last year had some celebrations in store for you and that the new year will be blessed with good fortune and fun!
I don’t know about you, but, for me, this year has started out so fast and now January is almost over! So much to do, complete, or get started. Fortunately, everything is positive and feels really productive.
The first week of January, I went to Sacramento for the Sac Anime convention.
I had a great time, met new SheRa fans and new fans of my Batgirl and Catwoman characters as well. I loved seeing more SheRa cosplayers and having interviews with Sirius Radio.

The people at SaAnime were so helpful and the convention so convenient to the hotel in which we stayed. And the great guys who wore SheBros shirts made my day!
We always love talking to everyone at the panels and this little one who could barely reach the microphone was no exception. How I love talking with each and every one of you. At the panel, I’d talked about this rescue cat I recently got and how when I was practicing the
She-Ra “transformation “ speech he got really upset because he didn’t know what was happening!
(At home, no one goes around talking at the top of their voice range and loudly saying things like “For the Honor of Grayskull” !) … He really couldn’t figure it out and was very concerned to see if I was ok!
So, what a surprise when the next day, returning to my table, there were two little clay figures at my seat that one of the vendors at the convention (PopGarden on Etsy) had made which looked just like him! What a thoughtful and charming gift.
I got to talk with so many of you and one terrific young man who’d been a fan since he was little, had me write some special quotes on one of the autograph photos that will keep his spirits up while he’s completing difficult graduate courses. I love knowing I can inspire you even miles away!

I just found out I’ll be going to Retro Con in October! I’m really looking forward to seeing all of you who live in Pennsylvania.

Bye for now, and keep up the good work fighting the good fight!

Love, Melendy

Happy Holidays!

December 20, 2017 by Melendy Britt

Let me wish you all a Season of Peace, Caring and Happiness. The Holiday Season is here for us and in our hearts joy always remains!

Many of my She-Ra fans tell me that one of their Holiday Traditions is to watch the
“He-Man And She-Ra Christmas Special.” It’s great that the DVD’s are out there and even
more convenient that they can be accessed online. That makes me so happy, because it
makes me feel as if I am somehow giving a little more Christmas Cheer to you even though we don’t see each other in person.

But, if you’re in Sacramento on January 6th and 7th, 2018 I’ll be at the Sac Anime Convention at the Sacramento Convention Center, signing autographs and meeting each of you. I’m so looking forward to a New Year still able to talk with you and hear your stories of growing up with She-Ra and now sharing the series with your own children.

As most of you know, they’ve announced the upcoming new She-Ra series that Dreamwoks and Netflix are going to release in 2018. I know so many of you are anxiously awaiting this and I am happy that a new generation will be able to be inspired by She-Ra. And I hope the original series will still also be available online! She-Ra is an inspiring icon that has been and will continue to be a source of happiness to generations!

Happy Holidays and a Glorious New Year for Everyone. You are always in my heart. Keep fighting the good fight!
